Eastwick Town Watch Training 2

The Delaware Riverkeeper Network has been sitting on the Board of Eastwick Friends and Neighbors Coalition (EFNC) since 2012 when widespread development was proposed on 128-acres of flood-prone property in Eastwick adjacent to the John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge. Eastwick is faced with many challenges, including local and catastrophic flooding. However, there are also every day, quality-of-life of challenges facing Eastwick,  including illegal dumping, illegal tractor trailer parking, violent crimes, street drag racing and more. While EFNC and DRN are working with City, state and federal agencies and local universities on the flooding issues, EFNC and other community groups are pressing to re-establish the Eastwick Town Watch. Through a Town Watch, closer ties are established with City Police, Streets and Sanitation. There are more “eyes-on-the-street in terms of residents knowing who to contact when then see a problem.  Two Town Watch training sessions are planned (see flyer). If you live in Eastwick, please plan on attending. If you live in another part of Philadelphia and think the Town Watch or a training effort is needed, contact:
