Webinar 3: Frack Waste Processing and Discharge

January 18 Webinar on DRBC Draft Frack Regulations and Proposed Ban – Third in January Series
Get the Facts You Need to Testify at Hearings and Write Strong Comments to Win a Full Fracking Ban

Webinar 3: Frack Waste Processing and Discharge – Thursday, January 18th
Join the Delaware River Watershed Frack Ban Campaign, represented by Delaware Riverkeeper Network and Berks Gas Truth, for a review of the Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) draft fracking regulations that would allow wastewater produced by fracking to be stored, processed, and discharged in the Delaware River Watershed. As illogical as it seems, the DRBC plans to ban fracking in the Watershed but still allow waste from fracking elsewhere to be imported and dumped here. We’ll examine what the draft regulation says and what the issues are with this proposed activity.

This webinar is the third in a series of webinars offered by the Frack Ban Campaign to share information about what is being proposed by DRBC and how you can meaningfully participate in the public process that will inform this historic decisionmaking – both the upcoming hearings and written comment.

A Talking Points document with live hyperlinks to aid your research will be provided to all participants.

The DRBC’s draft fracking regulations would allow water to be withdrawn from the Watershed for fracking outside of the Basin and wastewater from fracking to be discharged in the Basin and are currently open for public comment through March 30. Hearings on the proposals are in January and details about how to sign up are here.
