Why Is Your Membership Important?
The Delaware Riverkeeper Network needs concerned citizens like you to achieve its vision of clean water for the communities, both human and wild, that depend on the Delaware River and all its tributary streams. Our members make up the backbone of the Delaware Riverkeeper Network supporting all of our efforts and accomplishments.
- Your membership means more people hear us when we speak for the River.
- Your membership supports our efforts on the ground to monitor, protect and restore streams.
- Your membership increases the weight of our standing when we defend the River with legal action.
Whether you choose to become a member at the basic level or donate at a sustaining level, you are counted as a member. And as a member, you are helping to protect the Delaware River and its tributaries. You are helping to ensure that our children and grandchildren will be able to enjoy the beauty and bounty of clean streams.
Basic membership in DRN is free. We recognize that times remain tough financially for many people. We offer basic membership for those who are not now in a position to donate financially, but who can write letters and make phone calls to influence decision-makers, who can volunteer to monitor water quality or restore streams, and who are able to share our message with others and expand the reach of our messages.
Sustaining memberships begin at $50. Concerned citizens like you know how important it is to have a strong river advocacy organization working throughout the Delaware River watershed, but professional Riverkeeping is expensive and needs your support. Your Sustaining Membership provides the financial resources necessary to take on the well-funded and well-organized interests seeking to take advantage of our public waterways for private profit.
Note: Determination on positions that best serve the needs of the Delaware River and advance the mission of the Delaware Riverkeeper and the Delaware Riverkeeper Network are made in light of the most current information, science, facts and law, precedent that will be set, and implications for other river issues and realities. Decisions on positions taken by the Delaware Riverkeeper Network are made only by the Delaware Riverkeeper and organizational leadership.
