Webinar: Examining DRBC’s Proposed Frack Ban and Draft Frack Regulations

Sharing the evidence that supports a complete ban on fracking and all related activities

On Thursday, January 4, 6:30pm to 7:30pm, we’ll be reviewing the Delaware River Basin Commission’s (DRBC) proposed ban on high volume hydraulic fracturing throughout the Delaware River Watershed and the various issues involved. This is the first in a series of January webinars diving into the draft fracking regulations and proposed ban, now open for comment through February 28.

Webinar 1: The Fracking Ban – Thursday, January 4th (Completed, recording available here)
Join the Delaware River Watershed Frack Ban Campaign, represented by Delaware Riverkeeper Network and Berks Gas Truth, to discuss what is being proposed by DRBC, why we need a complete ban, and how you can meaningfully participate in the public process that will inform this historic decisionmaking.

This webinar will be followed each week up to the DRBC’s January 23 and 25 Public Hearings by a webinar examining a different aspect of the draft natural gas regulations and the proposed ban:

To start out, the January 4 webinar will review the evidence that supports a complete ban on fracking in the Watershed.  A Talking Points document about why a fracking ban is essential will be provided to all participants.

This webinar requires registration. Please register ahead of time to be certain you have the webinar materials prior to the event. In addition, a recording of the webinar will be provided to all registrants.

The ban and draft fracking regulations that would allow wastewater from fracking to be discharged in the Basin and water to be withdrawn from the Watershed for fracking outside of the Basin are currently open for public comment through March 30th. Hearings on the proposals are in January and details about how to sign up to attend and/or speak – by the cutoff date December 31 – are here.
