ACE Comment Deadline Gibbstown LNG

No LNG export from the Delaware River!

DEADLINE for comment: July 31

The Army Corps of Engineers already gave the go-ahead for the Gibbstown Logistics Center for one dock with one ship berth at their new deepwater port. Now New Fortress Energy wants to add Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and more natural gas liquids to the cargo they bring in to the Gibbstown, NJ deepwater marine terminal and export it from a second dock with 2 additional berths, tripling the number of ships that can get access to the terminal. LNG would be processed in the shale fields of Pennsylvania, trucked at least 175 miles to Gibbstown NJ and then loaded directly into waiting ships at the terminal, 24/7, 365 days per year. Hundreds of trucks per day at about 15 trucks in and out per hour is projected. See the Army Corps Notice with those details here: https://bit.ly/2GtOBV8

For background, here is a link to comment that DRN submitted previously on the original Army Corps permit that this supplemental notice refers to: https://bit.ly/2LSB7G4

Please tell the Army Corps why you think LNG transport from Bradford County, PA by truck and rail to Gibbstown, NJ for export on the Delaware River is a horrible idea and a threat to the region’s health and safety.

You can send a letter directly to the Army Corps with a click here – you can use the sample provided or write your own in the template:
