Week 1 - Ban Fracking in the Delaware River Watershed! That means no frack waste, no water for fracking!

Ban Fracking in the Delaware River Watershed! That means no frack waste, no water for fracking!
Submit your comment in writing now to DRBC

Did you make verbal testimony at one of Delaware River Basin Commission’s (DRBC) Hearings in January? Did you say everything you wanted in your 2-3 minutes? Did you want to testify but didn’t make it there? You can tell them now.

DRBC is collecting comments about their proposal to ban fracking in the Delaware River Watershed and their draft fracking regulations that would allow wastewater from fracking to be discharged here and water for fracking to be exported for fracking out of the basin. What? Ban fracking but allow pollution and depletion by fracking? Let’s tell them we want a COMPLETE ban on fracking and all its activities.

YOU CAN WEIGH IN NOW! Submit your verbal testimony or a longer version of it or your thoughts about why they must ban fracking completely by going to the DRBC web portal.

Additional background information on the DRBC's Notice of Proposed Rulemaking and Public Hearing

Thank you for submitting written comments! This is how we’ll achieve a COMPLETE frack ban in the Delaware River Watershed!

TALKING POINTS
We are providing you with a comprehensive list of talking points on the proposed frack ban and regulations here. You may use this information to help develop your testimony and written comments.

PUBLIC HEARINGS
After public outcry over the restrictive public hearing schedules, the DRBC extended comments to include two additional dates (shown below). Please register on line immediately to testify at the links shown below, there is still room at every hearing:

>February 22, 2018, 3 p.m. to  7 p.m.; Lisa Scheller-Wayne Woodman Community Services Center, Lehigh Carbon Community College, 4525 Education Park Dr., in Schnecksville, Pa. Register to attend

>March 6, 2018, 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.; The commission will host a moderated public hearing by telephone. Members of the public are encouraged to listen by calling 1-866-831-8713 and asking the operator to connect them to the DRBC call. Register to address the commission

We are demanding a complete ban on gas drilling, fracking, and all of its related activities throughout the Delaware River Watershed. It makes no sense to ban fracking but allow the discharge of frack wastewater and allow the depletion of the Watershed's water for fracking.
