Von Nieda Park Beautification Day in Cramer Hill, NJ

Join us Saturday morning, 5/12, to cleanup and remediate Von Nieda Park!

Clean up location has been changed. It is no longer taking place at Reverend Evers Park, but at Von Nieda Park instead.

When:
Saturday, May 12, 2018, 9 AM to 1 PM
Where:
Meeting Place:
Cramer Hill Community Center
1035 Reeves Ave, Camden, NJ 08105
Work Site:
Von Nieda Park located at Reeves Ave. in the Cramer Hill Section of Camden.
If driving, the Park is off River Road. The work site is at the intersection of North 29th St and Pierce Ave

Parking:
Lots between N 29th and N 30th street opposite basketball courts.

What we will do:
Weeding, mulching and planting trees, shrubs and grasses in a bio-swale stormwater basin. We will also do a quick litter cleanup.

Why:
Rainwater and melting snow has historically flowed off of surrounding streets flooding the park. The stormwater bio-swale, built by CamdenSMART, now intercepts most of that runoff allowing it to instead infiltrate back into the ground and not flood the park so area residents can enjoy the park more.

What to bring: Dress in layers based on the weather. Make sure to wear long pants and old shoes/sneakers or work boots. We’ll hold the event rain or shine. We’ll provide gloves and tools. Snacks, water and lunch will be provided!
