Visual Assessment Monitoring (Stream Walks)

Goal: To provide groups with usable data that can be collected by volunteers with minimal training to characterize small watersheds.  Groups have used this tool to familiarize themselves with the impacts and issues affecting their local stream before establishing a more rigorous study design.  Others have used this assessment to determine riparian buffer quality throughout the watershed. 

Volunteer Requirement: This technique is available to local watershed groups who have a monitoring plan developed that incorporates a visual assessment
