Synagro’s plan to build a huge sludge drying plant on the border of Pen Argyl and Plainfield Township, PA is moving rapidly. A draft permit to allow stormwater discharge to Little Bushkill Creek from the industrial site has been released for public comment by the Pennsylvania Dept. of Environmental Protection (PADEP). A public hearing will be held on November 7 and people can also submit written comments to PADEP on the permit: Synagro sludge drying plant industrial stormwater permit— "draft National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit (Permit No. PA0276120)"

PADEP says they are holding the hearing because the public has expressed concerns and the agency will answer questions and receive public comment regarding the draft permit. The hearing will take place on:
