Mar. 6 Public Hearings on DRBC Draft Frack Rules and Proposed Ban

The last chance for you to verbally testify to Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) on their proposed ban on high-volume hydraulic fracturing and draft gas regulations that would allow wastewater produced by fracking to be brought into the Watershed for storage, processing, and discharge here and would allow for water from the watershed to be exported to fuel fracking elsewhere is coming right up on March 6!

From DRBC:

March 6, 2018, 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The commission will host a moderated public hearing by telephone. Members of the public are encouraged to listen by calling 1-866-831-8713 and asking the operator to connect them to the DRBC call. Those wishing to address the commission at this hearing can register for an opportunity to speak. PLEASE REGISTER NOW if you want to testify.

DRBC issued draft natural gas regulations on Nov. 30. They have held 3 days of public hearings in Pennsylvania in January and February where hundreds of people have come out. After this telephone session, the opportunity for verbal comment will be over. The written public comment period will be open through March 30, 5:00 pm. To comment in writing, please go here:

We are demanding a complete ban on gas drilling, fracking, and all of its related activities throughout the Delaware River Watershed. It makes no sense to ban fracking but allow the discharge of frack wastewater and allow the depletion of the Watershed's water for fracking.

Thank you for weighing in on this historic decision that will define the health of our watershed of our communities for generations to come.
