Pipeline Impacts & Community Watch-Dogging Pipeline Construction

Monday Feb 27, 2016, 6:30pm, Lebanon PA – Pipeline Impacts & Community Watch-Dogging Pipeline Construction

Delaware Riverkeeper Network will be presenting an overview of pipeline construction impacts and community monitoring  for residents and impacted landowners concerned about looming  fossil fuel pipeline projects.  Transco’s Atlantic Sunrise Pipeline Project (a 199 mile natural gas pipeline that would run through 9 counties of Pennsylvania) received FERC certification on Friday, February 3rd.  A second pipeline, the Mariner East Pipeline (Sunoco’s proposed fracked liquids pipeline – not a FERC project) could begin cutting through Pennsylvania if permits are granted in the coming weeks as well.  This overview will teach concerned community members what they can look for if the pipeline companies begin tree clearing and subsequent construction.  The presentation will be a spring board for a more in depth Pipeline Watch training if these fracked gas pipeline projects proceed.    The presentation is being organized by Lebanon Pipeline Awareness and Schuylkill Pipeline Awareness.  For more information contact faith@delawareriverkeeper.org
