Radnor Township Stream & Stormwater Volunteer Project

Bring your smart-phone and your willingness to take a walk and learn how to take pictures that can help protect Radnor’s waterways and identify good projects for Radnor’s stormwater fee.

All Radnor’s streams fail to meet state pollution protection standards.  Radnor communities are being harmed by ongoing flood damages.   Properties and parks are being washed away by erosion.  Your participation in this project can get you out in the neighborhood and help Radnor make smart choices that help solve all of these problems.

Every picture tells a story.  Help us tell the story of Radnor’s streams.  Your pictures can help Radnor make better decisions about how to remedy flooding, pollution and erosion problems while at the same time protecting private property and public parks. Your photos can also demonstrate why the Board of Commissioners need to upgrade the Township’s stormwater ordinance today, and to stop dragging their feet on this important issue.

We will provide coffee, juice, bagels and fruit.

At the workshop, you will learn:

  • How to identify a healthy stream and one that is in trouble, and to take pictures that will tell that story;
  • How to geo-tag, label & upload your photos to DRN’s web collection site,
  • How to find, walk and document your assigned stream for the project,
  • Basic watershed issues & what to look for in the field,
  • How your pictures can be used to protect Radnor communities, streams and environment.
