Richard C. Albert

The Delaware Riverkeeper Network lost a wonderful colleague, expert, friend and River lover.  Richard C. Albert has passed away.  He has asked that rather than flowers, donations be made to his favorite causes including the Delaware Riverkeeper Network.  (when making a donation simply put Dick’s name in the memo line)

Dick wrote about the people and history of the Delaware River in his book" Damming the Delaware." But Dick did more than just write about the people and history of this region, Dick was part of the history of the Delaware and inspired many people to care about and act for the protection and restoration of the Delaware River and tributary streams he loved.  Dick was an irreplaceable mover, and author, creating the special protection waters program that protects the entire non-tidal Delaware River from harmful pollution.  And he has inspired many, including all of those working at the Delaware Riverkeeper Network, to use strong science to identify and create meaningful protection and change for the Delaware and its tributaries.

Dick, we miss you and love you — we thank you for the inspiration and learning and mentoring you have provided us all.
